Whoever created the online language translation services (<a href=\"http:\/\/babelfish.yahoo.com\/\">Babel Fish<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/translate.google.com\/\">Google Translate<\/a>, etc.) obviously did not know this and the word &#8220;wildflowers&#8221; will not translate but &#8220;wild flowers&#8221; will.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fireflyforest.net\/images\/firefly\/2006\/December\/Sabino-Canyon-Poppy-Vervain.jpg\" alt=\"Wildflowers, wild flowers, flores silvestres, flores salvajes, or whatever in Tucson, AZ\" title=\"Wildflowers, wild flowers, flores silvestres, flores salvajes, or whatever in Tucson, AZ\" width=\"480\" height=\"358\" class=\"post-photo\" \/><span class=\"copyrightnotes\">Spring wildflowers in Tucson&#8217;s Sabino Canyon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>My websites, especially my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fireflyforest.com\/flowers\/\">Wildflowers of Tucson, Arizona<\/a> website, get a fair number of non-English-speaking visitors (many from Mexico) who use online translation services, and it is annoying that the most common word used on my site won&#8217;t translate for them. Even more annoying are the attempted translations of the Latin scientific names. I wish that there was a &#8220;do not translate&#8221; html tag for scientific names!<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, the Spanish word for wildflowers is &#8220;flores silvestres&#8221;, but the separate words &#8220;wild flowers&#8221; translate with online translators as &#8220;flores salvajes&#8221;.
