I discovered these deformed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fireflyforest.com\/flowers\/924\/dalea-albiflora-whiteflower-prairie-clover\/\">Whiteflower Prairie Clover (Dalea albiflora)<\/a> flower spikes in the Santa Catalina Mountains near Tucson.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fireflyforest.net\/images\/firefly\/2006\/October\/deformed-Dalea-albiflora-2.jpg\" alt=\"Deformed Whiteflower Prairie Clover (Dalea albiflora) flower spikes\" title=\"Deformed Whiteflower Prairie Clover (Dalea albiflora) flower spikes\" width=\"480\" height=\"400\" class=\"post-photo\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know what was wrong with these bizarre plants, but instead of a single flower spike, each stem had multiple, conjoined flower spikes grown together in strange-looking, many-tipped clumps.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fireflyforest.net\/images\/firefly\/2006\/October\/deformed-Dalea-albiflora-1.jpg\" alt=\"Deformed Whiteflower Prairie Clover (Dalea albiflora) flower spikes\" title=\"Deformed Whiteflower Prairie Clover (Dalea albiflora) flower spikes\" width=\"400\" height=\"559\" class=\"post-photo\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Normal, non-deformed Whiteflower Prairie Clover is very similar to <a href=\"https:\/\/fireflyforest.net\/firefly\/2006\/08\/22\/white-prairie-clover\/\">White Prairie Clover (Dalea candida)<\/a>, but it has distinctively fuzzy stems and leaves.
