Harrison is a friend of my parents, and I went with them to visit him last Saturday.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fireflyforest.net\/images\/firefly\/2006\/April\/Harrison-Yocum.jpg\" alt=\"Harrison Yocum\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" class=\"post-photo\" \/><\/p>\n<p>My parents told me to bring along my camera, and I&#8217;m sure glad that I did! I have never seen a house and garden like Harrison&#8217;s before.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fireflyforest.net\/images\/firefly\/2006\/April\/rock-cactus-garden.jpg\" alt=\"Harrison Yocum's garden in Tucson, Arizona\" width=\"480\" height=\"321\" class=\"post-photo\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Everywhere you look there is an interesting and unusual plant or rock. Harrison has such a large collection of rock and mineral specimens that he has piled some of them into artistic, small-scale mountain ranges around his garden.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fireflyforest.net\/images\/firefly\/2006\/April\/rock-pile.jpg\" alt=\"Harrison Yocum's garden in Tucson, Arizona\" width=\"350\" height=\"496\" class=\"post-photo\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Cacti, colorful succulents like the one below, and other interesting things can be found tucked amidst the rocks.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fireflyforest.net\/images\/firefly\/2006\/April\/red-succulent.jpg\" alt=\"Red succulent in Harrison Yocum's garden in Tucson, Arizona\" width=\"480\" height=\"401\" class=\"post-photo\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Many of the rocks themselves are also quite colorful.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fireflyforest.net\/images\/firefly\/2006\/April\/colored-yard-rocks.jpg\" alt=\"Colorful rocks in Harrison Yocum's garden in Tucson, Arizona\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" class=\"post-photo\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Even the walls of Harrison&#8217;s house are covered with a fantastic collection of colorful rocks and geodes.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fireflyforest.net\/images\/firefly\/2006\/April\/rock-house.jpg\" alt=\"Harrison Yocum's house in Tucson, Arizona\" width=\"350\" height=\"517\" class=\"post-photo\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fireflyforest.net\/images\/firefly\/2006\/April\/rock-wall.jpg\" alt=\"Rock wall of Harrison Yocum's house in Tucson, Arizona\" width=\"480\" height=\"353\" class=\"post-photo\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Harrison has constructed numerous stacked rock totems, and they are some of the most unusual yard decorations I&#8217;ve ever seen.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fireflyforest.net\/images\/firefly\/2006\/April\/stacked-river-rock.jpg\" alt=\"Harrison Yocum's stacked rock totems\" width=\"400\" height=\"548\" class=\"post-photo\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Harrison&#8217;s garden is so creative and unique that it has been featured in magazines like Arizona Highways (May 2005).
