{"id":469,"date":"2006-03-28T11:30:00","date_gmt":"2006-03-28T18:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fireflyforest.net\/fire\/2006\/03\/28\/green-lacewing\/"},"modified":"2007-05-16T11:07:00","modified_gmt":"2007-05-16T18:07:00","slug":"green-lacewing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fireflyforest.net\/firefly\/2006\/03\/28\/green-lacewing\/","title":{"rendered":"Green Lacewing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I recently spotted this tiny <a href=\"http:\/\/eny3005.ifas.ufl.edu\/lab1\/Neuroptera\/chrysopid.htm\">Green Lacewing (Family Chrysopidae)<\/a> resting on a stucco wall near a light that had been left on all night.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fireflyforest.net\/images\/firefly\/2006\/March\/Green-Lacewing-2.jpg\" alt=\"Green Lacewing (Family Chrysopidae) with curled antennae\" width=\"440\" height=\"440\" class=\"post-photo\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not sure why its antennae were curled or even if this is normal. When photographed from another angle, the camera&#8217;s flash caused the dark eyes of this Green Lacewing to glow red and painted its delicate wings with lovely pink iridescence.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fireflyforest.net\/images\/firefly\/2006\/March\/Green-Lacewing-1.jpg\" alt=\"Green Lacewing (Family Chrysopidae) with wing iridescence\" width=\"400\" height=\"553\" class=\"post-photo\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Not surprisingly, Green Lacewings are green, and their transparent wings have a lace-like pattern of veins.
