The young of many species seem to be more curious and less careful than the adults, and thus are more likely to allow themselves to be photographed. Juvenile <a href=\"https:\/\/fireflyforest.net\/firefly\/2005\/10\/06\/curve-billed-thrashers\/\">Curve-billed Thrashers (Toxostoma curvirostre)<\/a> are some of the boldest around and seem almost eager to pose for photographs.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fireflyforest.net\/images\/firefly\/2005\/November\/curve-billed-thrasher-juv.jpg\" alt=\"Juvenile Curve-billed Thrasher (Toxostoma curvirostre)\" title=\"Juvenile Curve-billed Thrasher (Toxostoma curvirostre)\" width=\"350\" height=\"449\" class=\"post-photo\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, these young birds are rather photogenically-challenged with awkward postures and ratty-looking plumage full of pinfeathers.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fireflyforest.net\/images\/firefly\/2005\/November\/curve-billed-thrasher-juv2.jpg\" alt=\"Juvenile Curve-billed Thrasher (Toxostoma curvirostre)\" title=\"Juvenile Curve-billed Thrasher (Toxostoma curvirostre)\" width=\"300\" height=\"394\" class=\"post-photo\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I have similarly gawky photographs of myself as a young teenager with bad hair and metal braces on my teeth, so I can definitely empathize with these funny-looking young birds!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While looking through my photo collection, I noticed that I have an unusually high proportion of photos of young birds and animals.
