{"id":132,"date":"2005-06-19T13:59:00","date_gmt":"2005-06-19T20:59:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fireflyforest.net\/fire\/2005\/06\/19\/blanketflower-from-below\/"},"modified":"2006-07-10T11:26:48","modified_gmt":"2006-07-10T18:26:48","slug":"blanketflower-from-below","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fireflyforest.net\/firefly\/2005\/06\/19\/blanketflower-from-below\/","title":{"rendered":"Red Dome Blanketflower From Below"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fireflyforest.com\/flowers\/1124\/gaillardia-pinnatifida-red-dome-blanketflower\/\">Red Dome Blanketflower (Gaillardia pinnatifida)<\/a> has just been added to my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fireflyforest.com\/flowers\/\">Wildflowers of Tucson, Arizona<\/a> website.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fireflyforest.net\/images\/firefly\/2005\/June\/Gaillardia-pinnatifida.jpg\" alt=\"Red Dome Blanketflower (Gaillardia pinnatifida)\" title=\"Red Dome Blanketflower (Gaillardia pinnatifida)\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" class=\"post-photo\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I found these Red Dome Blanketflowers growing at about 4000 feet (1219 m) along Redington Road in a grassy field.<\/p>\n<p>These plants were a bit difficult to identify because most of their leaves were linear just like those of Onion Blanketflower (<em>Gaillardia multiceps<\/em>), but I did find several pinnately-lobed lower leaves on the plants which are characteristic of <em>G. pinnatifida<\/em>, so that&#8217;s what I decided they were. I also discovered that <em>G. pinnatifida<\/em> leaves are variable, with only a few to many pinnately-lobed leaves.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Red Dome Blanketflower (Gaillardia pinnatifida) has just been added to my Wildflowers of Tucson, Arizona website.
