Even though I love living here in Tucson, it's not the most attractive city I've ever seen. Tucson has more than its fair share of ugly buildings, relics of the cheap "modern" styles of the 1950s through the 1970s.

What do you do if you have one of these ugly relics and tearing it down and rebuilding is not an option? Do like The Greens Bar & Grill and slap on some nightmarish orange and green and then let your building's eyesore status work as a form of offbeat advertising. Brilliant!

For the curious, The Greens Bar & Grill is located at 1310 S. Alvernon Way. It's impossible to miss… Even if you try.

I'm not sure what the screaming monster heads are supposed to be (The Javelina Man?), but the Halloweenish decor almost makes me want to go inside, just to see if it is anything like the retina-burning exterior of this bar and grill… And I'm a non-drinker and a vegetarian.

I wonder just what sort of wild game this monster uses for its burgers… 😉
