I visited the Chiricahua Mountains in early March, and spring had definitely not yet arrived there. The weather was poor, with icy winds and snow. I did see some sunshine, but even when it was partly cloudy, sunlit snow was still falling from the tattered storm clouds. Despite the wintry weather and lack of spring, it was still very scenic, especially where I stayed in the eastern Chiricahuas in Cave Creek Canyon.
