Littleleaf Ratany

I have just added Krameria erecta (Littleleaf Ratany) to my Wildflowers of Tucson, Arizona website.

Krameria erecta (Littleleaf Ratany)

These plants are very inconspicuous and rather unattractive until they bloom, but when they do, their unusual flowers are a dazzling magenta pink. The flowers have tiny petals and much larger, petal-like, magenta sepals. This plant is similar to Krameria grayi (White Ratany), but Krameria grayi has narrower, more pointed sepals and gray leaves.
