The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, and the eastern Pacific hurricane season runs from May 15 to November 30. Here in southern Arizona, we are far from both oceans so the remnants of former hurricanes that reach here are usually no more than daylong cloudy skies, some rain or drizzle, and temporarily cooler summer temperatures. To see what we're missing out on, check out this alarming animation showing the effects of Saffir-Simpson Category 1-5 hurricanes on a beachfront house.
