Tucson Spring 2007 Wildflower Update 2
March 14, 2007As of March 14, 2007, there are now wildflowers like Santa Catalina Prairie Clover (Dalea pulchra) and even a few California Poppies (Eschscholzia californica ssp. mexicana) blooming in the mountain foothills above 3500 feet (1067 m) around Tucson. This is not a good wildflower year here, but there are wildflowers out there, and good places to see them are on the hiking trails in the foothills of the Santa Catalina and Rincon Mountains.
