Magnets and Young Children

Here are 3 CDC case reports demonstrating why you should keep magnets away from small children. If ingested, the magnets can directly join together and cause intestinal obstructions, or if they are in separate parts of the intestines, the magnets can magnetically adhere and cause loops of the intestine to become joined and twisted. Either can be fatal.
