Seaside Petunia

Even though Tucson is far from the sea, Seaside Petunias (Calibrachoa parviflora) can be found growing here in the moist, sandy, beach-like soil of our desert washes and streams.

Seaside Petunia (Calibrachoa parviflora)

Seaside Petunias are low-growing, mat-forming annuals with small, petunia-like flowers. Seaside Petunias used to be considered to be true petunias and were classified as Petunia parviflora, but they have now been reclassified into the related genus Calibrachoa.
