Landscaping with Native Plants

June 16, 2005, updated July 27, 2006

Gardening Insights, a landscape design, education, and consulting service here in Tucson, has a list of native, Tucson plants that can be used for low-care landscapes. The Tucson area has a wide variety of attractive, native plants which are available in local nurseries or may already be found growing in many people's yards.

These native plants are innately adapted to our sometimes harsh, desert conditions, and thus don't require much care or water. I have some native plants in my garden, and they are given just a little added water (but not too much) to keep them looking their best.
